Is This the 2011 Porsche Cayenne?

We’re not supposed to see the next Porsche Cayenne for another couple weeks, but thanks to an accidental Web update, we’re able to see the revised SUV ahead of its debut.

Porsche plans on unveiling the second-generation Cayenne until its official debut at the 2010 Geneva motor show, but the eagle-eyed folks at TopSpeed caught it hiding in plain sight on Porsche’s official Web page. Porsche, of course, has already taken it down and replaced the photo with one showing the current model, but not before screen shots were captured.

From what we can see here, the biggest updates have been made to the nose. Right up front, the center air inlet has been reshaped into a trapezoid and is flanked by larger intakes to the left and right. Below, the fog lights get bigger cutouts while above the headlights get pulled back and lengthened. From this angle, it also appears that Porsche has done some work around back and the third window behind the rear passenger door looks smaller. This wouldn’t be too surprising. We’ve long known the new Cayenne, along with its Volkswagen Touareg sibling, would be slightly smaller than the current model.

Word has it the new Cayenne will come with two V-6 options, one a 3.0-liter diesel with 240 horsepower and the other a 3.6-liter gas engine with 280 horsepower. A 400-horsepower 4.8-liter V-8 is also expected, as is a 500-horsepower turbocharged V-8 and a hybrid model. We’ll know more when the new Porsche Cayenne officially debuts in Geneva on March 2 and 3.
