4 Cylinder Turbo Machine New to BMW Z4 in the U.S. ?

Image via WikipediaBMW announced that they will offer the Z4 model first in the UnitedStates (U.S.) equipped four-cylinder turbo engine. This marks thefirst time in recent decades BMW bring four cylinder engines to theU.S. market.


The latest BMW Z4 named sDrive28i Roadster 2.0-liter turboengine equipped four-cylinder in line that could produce 240 hp at5000 rpm with 352 Nm of torsional strength which can already beachieved at 1250 rpm.

Engine output is obtained thanks to a combination of the use of fuel-system supply direct injection, BMW's Valvetronic valvesettings and twin-scroll turbocharger type capable of presenting a V6 engine with equivalent power keiritan I4 engine.

BMW estimates that the application of these technologies canincrease fuel efficiency by 20% compared to existing machines.6-speed automatic transmission is also very helpful Z4 to achievemaximum efficiency. (OL-07)
